Visit of Guro Ben Boeglin to Kali Majapahit Finland

Last January 2026, the International Director of Kali Majapahit, Guro Ben Boeglin, visited the AZA premises to share a very intense, interesting and fun weekend with the adults students of Kali Majapahit Finland.

Considering the limited space of AZA premises, the Saturday Kali Majapahit workshop was a complete success with a full tatami of enthusiastic Martial Artists and, most important, human beings sharing passion for the movement in the form of Kali Majapahit Martial Art.

Guro Ben Boeglin started the Saturday 24th of January 2026 at 8.00 am until 10.00 am with a great I.T.A. class (Instructor Training Academy) where he shared great tips to become a good instructor from his own experience holding several KM Academies in Singapore and Malaysia, and where the students had the exceptional opportunity to ask questions helping to all of us to understand better and deeper the Kali Majapahit System with the Guro Ben´s answers.

The Saturday morning continued with a great 4 hours workshop from 10.00 to 14.00 where we went through “solo baston” or “single stick” in a very interesting approach of “stick dumog” or “wrestling with stick”, continuing with knife drills and disarms.

The end of the workshop was with a short approach to the fun sarong although time flew and this sub-system will need to be explored with more details next time.

The end of the Saturday was the perfect opportunity, with the visit of Guro Ben, to celebrate the 9th Anniversary of AZA, with a wonderful table full of delicious food homemade by the KM Finland students and with our own private guitar concert by, the talented student of KM and rock-star, Miko Vanhatalo.

The Sunday program included an early morning private Black Belt training of 2 hours where we explored with Guro Ben “Jurus with kerambit” and “Serrada with espada y daga”.

After that Black Belt training we continued with a KM Grading to our KM advance students Miko and Jim who were tested for possible Red Belt or Kasama level previous to Black Belt in KM System. Heikki and Luka, two enthusiastic martial artists, father and son, with a great peaceful warrior spirit, who were tested for possible Yellow Belt. After intense 2 hours of Grading were Guro Ben checked in detail the level of the students with multiple requirements, techniques and drills, our dear KM Finland students passed the Grading. Congratulations and thanks for the support and help of the Black Belts Guro Irina, Guro Victoria, Guro Sini and Guro Diego, who stayed after their BB training to observe the Grading and they became a fundamental part of the last part of the Grading with an action and fun “Grande Finale” guided by the creativity of our dear Guro Ben Boeglin.

The weekend celebration ended with Guro Ben and some of the KM students visiting the Karting center in Vantaa, where speed and adrenaline combined perfectly to culminate a remarkable weekend where Kali Majapahit showed one more time in action the meaning of its motto “BEYOND MARTIAL ARTS”.

BIG THANKS to everyone who this possible this magic weekend and special mention to our guest, Guro and friend, Ben Boeglin. Already looking forward for the next visit!
